First Motorcycle designed as a motor vehicle

A total of 3 Indian Motorcycles were built in 1901 and on June 1st were publicly Demonstrated at a hill-climbing exhibition. The following year, production increased to 143 motorcycles. The engines were from Aurora Machine Company, Aurora, IL, USA and then mounted on a Motorcycle frames in Springfield, MA, USA.
