Map of Antarctica now in HD

Up until fall of 1997, the Antarctica maps had been very featureless, let alone, no one new what exactly was under that thick ice that covered it all. From Roughly 8000 images created by the Canadian Earth Observing satellite, using Synthetic Aperture Radar (Radarsat), once all the images were collected and assembled, a detailed mapping of Antarctica became available. They revealed ice flows and rough terrain, not only that, but they also revealed the exact shape of Antarctica under all that thick ice.
