Map of the human genome

The Rudimentary detail by researchers under Daniel Cohen in 1993 at the centre for the Study of Human Polymorphism in Paris, France, prepared the map of the human genome. A fully detailed map was expected to be completed circa 2001.

  • Human Genome Project – Wikipedia
The Human Genome Project (HGP) was an international scientific research project with the goal of determining the sequence of nucleotide base pairs that make up human DNA, and of identifying and mapping all of the genes of the human genome from both a physical and a functional standpoint.

  • The Human Transcript Map – NCBI
The Human Genome Project is expected to produce a sequence of DNA representing the functional blueprint and evolutionary history of the human species.
  • A gene map of the human genome. – NCBI – NIH
The human genome is thought to harbor 50,000 to 100,000 genes, of which about half have been sampled to date in the form of expressed sequence tags.
  • A physical map of the human genome : Article : Nature
The human genome is by far the largest genome to be sequenced, and its size and complexity present many challenges for sequence assembly.
