English Glossary Based on Bible Translation

The first glossary of English words was based on the Bible’s English translation. The glossary was called “a table expounding certain words” and compiled for William Tyndale’s translation of Pentateuch, printed in 1530. The glossary allowed literate people in the English language to understand the Scriptures meanings.
