New Year’s Greeting Printed by Gutenberg

Johannes Gutenberg printed a twelve-page pamphlet with the first New Year’s greeting at Mainz, Germany on December 1454. Reading as, Ein gut selig nuwe Jar (a good, blessed new year). The pamphlet was entitled Eyn Manung der Christenheit widder die Durken or “A Warning to Christendom against the Turks”.
