Commercially Sold Frozen Meat

James Harrison introduced frozen meat for commercial sales in Geelong, Australia in 1857 with equipment using gas vapour compression refrigeration system invented by Jacob Perkins and Alexander C. Twining. The first meat-packing plant to package frozen meat opened in Sydney, Australia in 1861 and the first product was shipped to England in 1879.
