Teatro di San Cassiano Opera House

The Teatro di San Cassiano opera house opened in Venice, Italy in 1637 by the Tron family. It was the first venue to showcase operas to the general public rather than select and wealthy audiences. Prominent opera composer, Claudio Monteverdi presented his written opera, L’incoronazione di Poppea (The Coronation of Poppea) in 1642.
