First International Terrorist Organization To Use Skyjacking

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine was the first international terrorist organization to use skyjacking as a terrorist act. In 1968, the PFLP hijacked 14 Israeli and other commercial airliners. The organization was founded in 1967 by the militant Marxist- Leninist and Palestinian nationalist Georges Habash, with a goal to destroy of the state of Israel.
