Founding of Grand National Consolidated Trades Union

The Grand National Consolidated Trades Union was founded in 1833 by Robert Owen, a Welsh manufacturer. The labour union for all workers that had a strong following among London tradesmen, and later dissolved in 1834 facing opposition from employers and the British government.
