Catopithecus Was Apes First Ancestor

Catopithecus, a lemur-like animal is believed to be the ancient ancestor of apes, monkeys, and humans, which lived in northern Africa approximately 36 million years ago. Elwyn Simons and a team from Duke University, Durham, NC, USA discovered skull, jaw, and teeth fossils in 1995. There is dispute of the anthropoid Eosimias, a tiny animal whose fossilized jaw, found in China dating to 40 million years ago.
