Early Romans Used Serving Forks

Ancient Romans used a serving fork with two tines. The first written mention of a fork dates back to circa 1090 when a historian of the Ducas family of Byzantium (Turkey) described a small golden fork used by the daughter of Constantine X Ducas, Eastern Roman emperor from 1059 to 1067.
