Laozi (571 BC - 471 BC)(UK: /ˈlaʊˈzɪə/, US: /ˈlaʊˈtsiː/; also Li Er or Lao-Tzu /ˈlaʊˈtsuː/, /ˈlaʊˈdzʌ/ or Lao-Tze /ˈlaʊˈdzeɪ/; Chinese: 老子; pinyin: Lǎozǐ, literally "Old Master") was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer.
