Kayak’s Solo Crossing across the Gulf of Mexico

Arthur Hebert made the first solo crossing of the Gulf of Mexico in a 17-foot (5 metre) kayak. Leaving Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula on May 16, 1998 and arriving in Louisiana, USA on June 4th. A Coast Guard cutter picked up Hebert’s kayak drifting into the Mississippi River.
