Creation of First Inter-species Cat

Betsy L. Dresser and colleagues at the Cincinnati Zoo in Cincinnati, OH, USA announced the birth of an interspecies cat on February 7, 1989. The kitten was a mix of an Indian desert cat (Fells sylvestris), an endangered species was fertilized in vitro and carried to term by an ordinary domestic cat (Fells catus).
